In spite of the fact that Tricky is one of the guys whose style is really appealing to me and I am really convinced that he's one of the most awesome representatives of trip-hop school I was almost totally disappointed by his concert given in Paris on 23 May. First of all the concert was delayed: at 20:00 the doors were open and only at 23:00 the concert began! There was no excusing, no explanations from Tricky's side as it was totally normal to make the crowd wait for him for hours. They gave a concert just for an hour. Just compare: 3 hours of waiting for 1 hour of a concert. And the concert itself was of some kind of a potboiler: just a few songs from a new album "False Idols" were performed, sometimes a song was stopped before it must have been stopped (it was clear that they were hurrying up and were going to end as soon as possible). From the technical point of view there were also some problems: the sound volume of a vocal's voice was so weak in comparison with the sound of the instruments that no word could be caught. I am not approbating those guys from the crowd who began to throw plastic cups to the stage showing their displeasure but I understand them well. Tricky is one of my most favorite performers of Trip-Hop but never will I go again to his concert. I will limit myself by listening to his songs on my PC or cell-phone.
